Rebecca is a psychologist dedicated to providing person-centred and evidence-based mental health care. With connection at the forefront of her work, Rebecca prioritises warmth, compassion, open-mindedness, and authenticity in helping clients make positive changes to improve their wellbeing.
Rebecca believes that many of the emotional/interpersonal challenges causing individuals distress in adulthood have their roots in early childhood, and as such the therapeutic relationship provides a powerful opportunity for growth and healing. She values taking an individualistic and collaborative approach to therapy - where the client brings their expertise on what it is like to live their life, while she brings expertise in psychological knowledge acquired from her training and research – and they work together on issues causing the client distress.
Rebecca has a special interest in working with attachment-based difficulties, young people, clients who struggle with alcohol and/or substances, and forensic issues. She is also interested in intellectual assessment of gifted children, and has a desire to help caregivers better understand their child's academic potential and strategies to support their learning needs. During her forensic training, she gained experience in individual and group therapy across custodial, community, and hospital environments.
